Rod`s Char Burger inc in Redondo Beach

I've lived in the neighborhood for over 20 years and used to go every weekend. Ms. Effie was awesome. She remembered my order every time I went there. Not sure if she works there anymore. It's been years since I was a regular but the last 2 times have been consistently bad. Slow service and unfriendly cashier unless they know you. Favoritism to certain demographics. Was cut in line by other patrons allowed by workers. NO SMILE from workers and poor communication when order was ready for pick-up.

The new menu!! I grew up eating at this place. Recent ownership changes have changed the ambience a little bit but still some of the best burritos and burgers in town. I suggest the chili cheese fries with pastrami, it's bomb!

Great place for a good burger kind staff

I eat there at least four times a week

My Double Cheeseburger and fries were classic and delicious. You'd have to ve a dog to finish these portions. You might try to be a dog after tasting these portions.

Worse burger ever, rude women taking orders was talk big to her really polite am shocked in this clean neighborhood like this rude lady taking orders in an angry rude tone from nothing.If it’s too much work on them get other employees you don’t have be rude an angry on customers I just moved to this beautiful city have went everything near by haven’t had an shocking experience like this one. Burger tastes horrible will never step foot to that place.

Rod's Char-broiler is definitely a place I'd recommend if you want local burgers, Mexican food, breakfast, dessert and more! Their wait time is roughly 5-10 minutes due to the circumstances but the food is worth the wait! The price is pretty reasonable and you get a pretty big portion! They have taken the necessary precautions during these tough times but still make the experience pleasant. I will definitely be going here again!

After 50 years of eating at Rod's it's time to say goodbye. Too many times food not cooked the way I asked. Too many times an order snafu.

I had the Char Broiled Burger Combo with a side of Onion Rings. Burger had a nice Char Broiled taste with grilled onions, tomato, lettuce. Burger had the right bun to meat ratio. Perfect. Fast and friendly service. I would recommend this place.

Half of our take out order was wrong (we ordered carne asada fries and received chili cheese fries - CA fries were more expensive) and they were letting people inside without masks. The woman taking orders was very rude. Overall, the items we have received the past few visits have been less than stellar. Food is either missing key ingredients (patty melt without onions) or completely wrong items are given. We have been going here for over a year and we were excited to support a local business in our neighborhood. Unfortunately, something has changed at Rod's (pre-social distancing) and it is not for the better.

The great thing about Rods is they have been serving the same quality fast food for years. They have a nice variety of food from burgers to tacos to chicken, sandwiches to salads to chili fries and breakfast food. I am especially fond of the fried zucchini. The food is always fresh, the counter staff is polite and take the time to ensure your order is right. There is a seating area and often used but never full. Do what I do, eat at Rods when you want to treat yourself.

Burger was really subpar for nearly $14 for a combo. I ordered a double bacon cheese burger well done with everything but lettuce/ tomato on the side. I immediately checked the order as I've never eaten here before and the bacon was paper thin, fatty and over cooked. I attempted to eat the burger but soon realized the bun was super soggy like they soaked it in their 1000 Island dressing. Couldn't finish it and ate just the meat. Onion rings were good. I told the girl cashier twice how dissatisfied I was including when I was eating it...she said nothing nor offered nothing. Very disappointed. I told her it was my first time here when I was ordering. I won't be back.

Best freakin chili cheese fries in the south bay. Been coming here since I was little and I always return!

Near perfect. Would be nice to have thicker handmade patties rather than the frozen machine made patties. And a bit more char flavor on the patties e.g. Flame. But I will be back!

I love how much food you get for the price you pay. Their burgers are so huge and they give you so many Fries. If you want a really good tasting burger. This would be your place to go!

I drove by this place a few weeks ago and saw the Charbroiled sign as I went by. I was back in the area so I stopped in. I like a good charbroiled burger every now and then this place definitely has that. I just like a real burger like they serve here. Friendly staff and a clean dining area. Parking lot in rear. self service soda and tables and booths to sit. A few tables outside.

Drove by this place craving a breakfast burrito. This place has a great rods special burrito. Very cheesy, good taste , and filling.

Food was ok, ordered avocado cheeseburger combo, chili cheese fries & cokes and orange bang. Drinks were over carbonated and orange was watered down.

Great burger joint. Everything I've had there was good. They do get really busy at times. The breakfast is always good, my favorite is the ham and eggs. I've also had the french toast which is good when I want something sweet. For lunch or dinner the burgers and fries are great. I like the bacon avocado cheeseburger but I have tried the carne asada fries and the chili fries. They have two tvs with something to watch on. Restrooms are in the back and need a key.

Amazing authentic burgers cooked fresh. Taste is amazing, just make sure to double check your food. Cookies are freshly baked and are amazing as well

If your looking for a delicious burger or even some Carne asada fries, stop by Rod's. The charbroile flavor is spot on and the customer service comes with a smile. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a warm bite of many classic foods we all crave.

Best chili I've had.

It was awesome delicious and in a nice area

Something has changed and not for the better. I waited over 45 minutes to get my food after asking several times without response as to when my order would be completed. Thing is several people who came in after me go their order, ate their food left before I got my order and turns out there were items missing from the order. I decided not to wait for them to make the missing items and got a refund for the total order. The lady that took my order was as rude as anyone I have ever met. Not just to me but to most of the people that came in. She constantly asked “Is that it?” after every item ordered.This place has major issues that need to be corrected before I will return.On a side note- I went across the street to an incredible kabob restaurant (I don’t remember the restaurants name) but the service was fast, the people were friendly and the food was exquisite.Good luck Rod’s and let everyone know when your restaurant gets back to how it was 10 years ago.

When you are in the south bay, this is the place for a unbelievable cheeseburger and shake!

This place is such a south bay classic. Like many other things it's good but not what it used to be. The burgers and chili cheese frys have changed. Good service.

Always great! We walk to rods with our dog and sit outside for their breakfasts and dinners. An iconic restaurant on Artesia Boulevard in Redondo Beach. They even made my patty melt with my own gluten free bread with no problem! Their burgers and fries combo, Greek salad and tuna melt on sourdough are delicious. Stop by and have a bite to eat!

Food is good, but there was an incident where I made an order over the phone and the order was not made. Went to pick up and had to wait. Minor inconvenience, but defeats the purpose of calling in.

Need a coffee and a breakfast burrito.. I asked what the combination was.. it has Chili.. oooh ya, it's that good! So is the rest of the menu for a fast food place...

The food is very good and reasonably priced. The service is also very friendly. I will definitely be back.

Rod's has been a staple in the South Bay for at least three decades. And they still draw a crowd. A nice alternative to the national chains in the area. The first time I ordered the breakfast combo burrito, the server informed me that it came with Chili (as if she was asking me if that was okay). Hey, that works for me. Chili is like bacon, it makes everything taste better...Cheeseburgers, hot dogs, French fries, so why not a breakfast burrito. Once you order, you find a seat (indoors or outdoors) and they'll bring your order to you, when it's ready. Good food, good service, good prices, for over 30 years. That's Rod's Char Broiler.

Any time I got to do laundry across the street, I come here for great charboiled burgers. It is reasonably price. They have a great breakfast menu and mexican food as well, but my go to is, always, a double bacon n avocado burger with cheese. It hits the spot!.

Last time I ate in this place was ok, I came back today and it was good, good customer service, good food, prices are not so bad. Keep up the good work.

I go with my wife to this great spot quite a bit! This is the best place to to have a good dinner. I go to this spot regularly. The food is very tasty, the crew is polite and the cost is reasonable. I like being in this spot to have a nice meal.

Great little breakfast and burger place in good ol' Redondo Beach. Affordable and quality food. It's an icon of a place for Redondo because it's been here for decades.

Used to come here as a kid with my dad because we used to live in the house right behind , decided to go to see how it is.... few changes but still felt the same . Staff was friendly , food came out in a good amount of time ... food was fresh and hot . I still love it!!
